trying to stay awake
Drew, the Small Person and myself spent the Bank Holiday weekend at Greenbelt. I’ll probably write more later, but I’m back at work and too tired to think let alone write! It was a great weekend though.
I know and I’m sorry …
.. for the lack of updates here, normal service (whatever normal is around here) will resume shortly.
I’m kind of doing two jobs right now, next week will be my last week as an employee and so I’m trying to get things finished off here. Then I’m spending every spare minute getting my business plans finalised, working on the new site and generally trying to ensure that myself and the small person don’t starve once I don’t have a full time income.
Things seem to be going well so far I’m just very tired.
stranded!
Due to this accident I found myself stranded on the station last night, along with several hundred other people.
I don’t understand the train companies, whenever there is an incident, instead of telling the passengers what has happened to allow them to make other travel arrangements, they go silent. On arriving at the station last night I find all the boards greyed out and no announcements being made, three quarters of an hour later they tell us that a train has left Paddington to get to us in approximately half an hour. At this point half of the people on the platform leave, probably because they know they can get home another way rather than try to get on a rush hour train which will be overcrowded by the time it got to us.
Had they said that no trains had yet left Paddington half an hour earlier, they wouldn’t have been dealing with serious platform overcrowding as well as everything else. Insane.
An experiment
I’m testing media-types over at edgeofmyseat.com
If you don’t know what media types can do for you, then check out the tutorial, then go on to visit the media types testing pages, and find out if your browser supports this.
I’m particularly looking for anyone with any kind of unusual browsing device – web TV, PDAs, braille readers, speaking browsers to test the pages and complete the form to let me know whether they work.
where did that weekend go…?
“While visiting your mother to offer some tech-support, you find that she’s set the new world record for the number of system-tray icons, topping out at 217. She doesn’t even know what the “Start” button is for.” – Geek Horoscopes I need funny stuff on a Monday morning.
