just praying

I don’t have any words that can help anyone who has been touched by what has happened in America today. I’ve spoken to various people I know in those cities and I pray that all those I know are safe.

This suddenly brought home to me the global community we now live in. Every day I read and write emails, chat on ICQ or in talkers with friends from all over the world, we’ve mostly never met in person and may never meet up ‘in real life’ but just as soon as I heard of this disaster my mind was racing not just to my own family (who are safely Upstate New York this morning) but to all those friends who I knew would be in New York or Washington today.

All I can do right now is pray, pray for those who may be trapped in the rubble of those buildings, pray for those who have died, and their families. Pray for those who are working to rescue and treat the wounded. That’s all I can do… will you join me?

“Rules for Jokers”

… is the title of the new album from Thea Gilmore that was released today. On a first listen it sounds great and I’m sure I’ll be playing it again and again, go buy it!

all quiet

You would have thought that I would have more time to write here once I had left work, but that isn’t the case. I’ve been really busy this last week with work and with planning. The small person went back to nursery school this week too and large amounts of uniform had to be purchased.

Today I got 3 emails from people asking if I was still around, still blogging… yes I am… I’m just trying to get to grips with the freelance life and then I’ll no doubt be back in full swing… thanks for checking in on me though, you know who you are =)

I’m Free!!!!!

My last day as an employee was yesterday, henceforth I am free to work in my underwear, at close proximity to my coffee machine and about 2 foot away from my bed. Marvellous.

Now, I just need to make sure I get enough work to be able to remain out of corporate slavery.
