WordPress
If you are reading this you are seeing the new incarnation of rachelandrew.co.uk which is now running on WordPress. I have to say how impressed I am with the simplicity of the WordPress install and the ease with which it imported all of the Movable Type posts and comments.
I’ve also redesigned, with a colour scheme to match my hair. I still have some stuff I want to do with this design however I wanted to get away from the spam attracting machine that is Movable Type.
Grand trip 2004
My parents have set off on a road trip across the USA. They (and my two younger sisters) have been resident in the USA for many years and now my folks have no children at home they are taking the chance to see a bit more of that huge country. I’m following their progress on my mam’s blog.
Spread Firefox
The Firefox Preview Release has now been released, download it and help to meet the target of 1 million downloads in 10 days and more importantly protect your computer from nasties that are all too easily installed when browsing the web using Internet Explorer.
I love Firefox, but if you want to see what other options are out there then check out Browse Happy, download a new, free, browser and enjoy a better, safer online experience.
Spam spam spam spam
I haven’t disappeared from the face of the earth, or run my car into a tree, however September has been crazy so far. I’ve also been a bit fed up with the amount of spam being posted to this blog and every time I have intended to post I have gone to my admin pages and found that I have several hundred spam comment posts to delete, by the time I have done that, I’ve forgotten what it was I was going to say! To deal with the problem until I have the time to migrate to WordPress I have turned off comments on all but this latest post.
